MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Rising West Virginia University sophomore Morgan Phillips finished fourth in the junior women’s 50m 3 positions, today, at the 2017 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Championship Rifle/Pistol, at the Schießsportzentrum in Suhl, Germany.
The reigning NCAA national smallbore champion, Phillips shot 435.0 in the final and finished off the podium behind three shooters from China. She entered the final in first place with a 589 (196 kneeling, 198 prone, 195 standing) mark.
Rising Mountaineer junior Ginny Thrasher just missed qualifying for the final and finished 12th overall with a 579 (196 kneeling, 194 prone, 189 standing) total.
