Perimeter defense failing Mountaineers, and TCU can fill it up

FORT WORTH, Texas — This is not the type of consistency Bob Huggins wants out of West Virginia’s defense.

Stuck with the only Big 12 defense that allows more than 70 points per game, Huggins needs to look no further than how well teams are shooting against the Mountaineers (8-8, 0-4).

Since Kansas State pulled off a 21-point second-half comeback last week, the Mountaineers are giving up 54-percent shooting.

“At some point and time, it comes down to, ‘I’ve got to stop my man.’ ” Huggins said. “The thing about it is it’s never the same guy.
