In news that was mostly expected and yet still relieving, West Virginia center Oscar Tshiebwe announced via Twitter that he’ll be returning to Morgantown for his sophomore campaign.
Tshiebwe will reunite with Junior forward Derek Culver and once again form one of the most imposing frontcourts in both the Big 12 and the country at large. Tshiebwe averaged 11.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, totaled nine double-doubles and gained a quick reputation as a dominant rebounder and rim defender during West Virginia’s surprising bounce-back season.
Tshiebwe’s return is the final piece of the puzzle for what looks to be one of West Virginia’s most talented teams in the better part of a decade.
