Oklahoma batters Donato during 10-2 series-clinching win

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Big 12 hits leader Craig Aikin added four more, including an RBI single that sparked a five-run fifth, as Oklahoma surged past West Virginia 10-2 on Sunday to claim the weekend series.

The Sooners (26-16, 10-5), who began the day a half-game behind first-place Oklahoma State in the conference standings, racked up 15 hits and pounded Chad Donato into his worst start of the season.

“If this was a basketball game they would’ve hit about 20 or 25 3-pointers today—they were that good offensively,” WVU coach Randy Mazey said.

“You saw what good offensive teams do and what kind of adjustments they can make on the fly like that.
