MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Rivals four-star offensive lineman Josh Ball of Fredericksburg, Va., committed to Florida State on Friday, spurning offers from a number of major programs, including West Virginia.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle turned 17 in May and is viewed as one of the nation’s fastest rising linemen, a trajectory that only helped garner attention from the Seminoles.
Ball had 29 Division I offers but was down to West Virginia, Auburn, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Maryland among his finalists.
The Mountaineers have one commitment from an offensive lineman for 2016, two-star prospect Jacob Buccigrossi.
