MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown High offensive lineman Nick Malone confirmed he won’t sign with Pitt on Wednesday after re-opening his recruitment.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder committed to the Panthers in August after camping at Pitt in June.
But Pitt coaches did not subsequently make an in-home visit with Malone. He did not sign during the December early signing period, and recruiting sources say the Panthers rescinded their offer.
Rivals ranks him as three-star prospect. 247Sports also gave Malone three stars but has continued listing him as a Pitt commit.
As for hometown West Virginia, Malone expects to continue conversations with the new staff and head coach Neal Brown to see how he could fit in.
