MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Bria Holmes scored 23 points and Lanay Montgomery had 15 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks to help No. 24 West Virginia close out Iowa State 57-47 Wednesday night.
It was tied at 45-all with 3:19 left to play before West Virginia closed on a 12-2 run. Montgomery started the spurt with a 3-point play and Holmes knocked down two free throws with 57.5 seconds left for a two possession lead.
Arielle Roberson tied a career-high with 17 boards for West Virginia (19-6, 8-4 Big 12), which outrebounded Iowa State 51-33. Montgomery recorded the ninth double-double of her career.
