Wednesday’s match is the first of four quarterfinal contests scheduled. Should the Mountaineers win, they will face the winner of No. 4 Oklahoma – No. 5 Texas Tech on Friday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Mountaineers (15-1-1, 6-0-1) and the Cowgirls (9-8-2, 2-4-2) met just one week ago, with WVU earning a 2-1 overtime victory on Oct. 23. WVU improved to 5-0 all-time against OSU, with all five contests decided by one goal.
This marks the fourth straight season the Mountaineers, the four time reigning conference regular-season champions, have earned the championship’s top seed. WVU has won the last two championship titles and shows a 5-1-1 mark in all-time Big 12 Soccer Championship matches.
