MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Four first-half goals helped the No. 11/15 West Virginia University women’s soccer team open its 2015 home season with a bang, as the Mountaineers knocked off Duquesne 5-0, today, in front of 1,378 fans at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The Mountaineers (3-1) never hesitated in shooting today, tallying a season-high 38 shots, the fifth-most in program history and the team’s top total since finishing with 41 against the Dukes in a 1-1 double-overtime draw on Sept. 6, 2012. WVU placed 17 shots on-goal, the squad’s highest total since placing 17 on-frame in a 4-0 win against Navy on Nov.
