WVU defeated the Falcons (0-1) in both guns, winning smallbore, 2335-2322, and air rifle, 2370-2358.
“It was a good overall performance for the team today,” said Mountaineer coach Jon Hammond. “Each of the athletes had some good positives. We had some solid smallbore showings from Meelis (Kiisk), Mike (Bamsey) and JP (Jean-Pierre Lucas). Meelis had a good air rifle match, too. The upperclassmen really relied on their past experiences to shoot in today’s season opener. I was most pleased to see that there’s a lot this team can still improve on, too.
