MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Trevon Wesco is going from the Applemen to the Big Apple.
The Musselman High and West Virginia graduate was selected by the New York Jets in the fourth round with the 121st overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Remarkably, Wesco was drafted one spot after WVU teammate Gary Jennings — a scenario that also played out with fellow Mountaineers Will Grier (100th pick) and Yodny Cajuste (101st).
Wesco’s rise in the last year has been even more remarkable.
The tight end entered his senior season with only two career receptions, but evolved into a focal point of West Virginia’s offense as the year progressed.
