MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia fans have seen what Neal Brown is like as a football coach in his first season leading the Mountaineers. On Wednesday, they’ll get a more complete picture of what he’s like as a recruiter.
The day marks the beginning of the early signing period, which the NCAA first instituted in 2017. The Mountaineers expect a minimum of 16 future players to send in their letters of intent, with the potential for a handful of uncommitted prospects announcing that they will attend West Virginia.
Last year Brown was working backwards after getting hired in January, making sure the December signees stayed on board while plugging in some holes with the February signing period and going beyond via the transfer portal.
