MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Members of the West Virginia University gymnastics team visited with staff and volunteers at Morgantown’s Betty Puskar Breast Care Center on February 23. The Mountaineers, along with coach Jason Butts, delivered the sundry items collected at Sunday’s Wendy M. Roach Pink Meet Invitational.
In its fourth year, the annual invitational helps promote awareness to fight breast cancer and honors Wendy, the mother of former WVU gymnast Nicole Roach (2009-12). This year’s meet was held on Feb. 21 at the WVU Coliseum, and the Mountaineers competed in pink leotards and distributed pink rally towels to fans in attendance, who also were asked to wear pink.
