Facing one of the most competitive teams of the week, the Mountaineers finished with a 10-6 edge in shots on-goal and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
“We’ve played four games in five days, and it was awesome for us to finish the week with a victory,” Mountaineer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. “There were so many lessons for us this week. This group learned and grew as a team, and this experience will help us as we begin the preparation for the 2016 season.”
The Mountaineers secured their third win of the week on a great individual effort in the 67th minute, as sophomore midfielder Carla Portillo curved a free kick from 20-yards out toward the near left post.
