CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Darius Hill and Paul McIntosh each drove in three runs as West Virginia blistered Marshall 15-3 at Appalachian Power Park.
The game got out of hand quickly as the Mountaineers (14-10) scored nine runs on five hits in the third inning. The Thundering Herd (15-9) committed two errors in the inning. Eight of West Virginia’s runs scored with one out as the Mountaineers sent 12 men to the plate in the inning.
McIntosh, who went 3-for-6, hit the lone home run of the game with a two-run shot that put West Virginia up 11-0.
