MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Playing eight rounds of tournament golf in less than 10 days proved to be too much for the West Virginia University golf team as the Mountaineers stumbled in round two of the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, taking 15th place on Sunday afternoon at the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
Sitting in a tie for eighth place after shooting a 302 in the first round, WVU carded a team score of 316 in the second to finish with a 618 for 50 over par.
“”It was a rough day for us on the Scarlet Course,” coach Sean Covich said.
