HANOVER, N.H. – A pair of Mountaineers finished with double-digit kills but wasn’t enough as the West Virginia volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to UConn on Saturday evening at Leede Arena in Hanover, New Hampshire, as part of the Dartmouth Tournament. The Mountaineers dropped the match in set scores of 23-25, 21-25 and 21-25.
Despite 13 kills from Morgan Montgomery and 11 from Caleah Wells, West Virginia (2-6) hit just .104 as a team with 6.5 team blocks. Dzeni Hadzisehovic had six kills, while Mia Swanegan found the court on five occasions.
