MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Daxter Miles’ outside shooting led to 20 points and Jonathan Holton posted a double-double during West Virginia’s 114-76 exhibition victory over Glenville State on Friday night.
Holton finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds in 17 minutes. And despite the officiating emphasis on freedom-of-movement, the senior committed only two fouls, quite a reversal from last season’s 118 whistles that ranked 11th-most nationally.
Jevon Carter, playing point guard predominantly, had 15 points and five assists for West Virginia, which opens the regular season next Friday against Northern Kentucky.
Nathan Adrian was 5-of-5 from the floor for 13 points.
