Mountaineers Ready for 2016-17 Season

The 45th season of West Virginia University women’s basketball tips off on Saturday, Nov. 12, when the No. 22/25-ranked Mountaineers welcome Charleston Southern to the WVU Coliseum for a 4 p.m. tipoff. There are a good mix of returning veterans and newcomers that are expected to help the Mountaineers compete for a Big 12 Conference title and vie for the program’s 12th NCAA Tournament appearance.

In 2015-16, West Virginia reached the postseason for a school-record 10th consecutive year. The Mountaineers finished 25-10 overall and placed third in the Big 12 with a 12-6 mark. The Mountaineers reached the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
