Mountaineers land commitment from ex-Ohio State defensive back Joshua Norwood

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former Ohio State defensive back Joshua Norwood, now a three-star prospect at Northwest Mississippi Community College, committed to the Mountaineers on Thursday.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder will have two years’ eligibility remaining when he enrolls in December.

An all-state player after making six interceptions as a senior at Valdosta (Ga.) High, Norwood redshirted for a season with the Buckeyes before appearing in 11 games in 2016, primarily on special teams.

When he did not appear to make a push for a starting role at Ohio State last spring, he transferred to junior college and has made 21 tackles through five games for Northwest Mississippi Community College, which is currently ranked 10th in the NJCAA poll.
