Mountaineers fall at last second to Sooners

The final rebound and the final basket made all the difference as OU earned a 70-68 win over WVU on Saturday in Norman, Okla.

Khadeem Lattin’s got a rebound over WVU’s Jonathan Holton, on a miss by Jordan Woodward, and tipped in the winning basket with less than two seconds left. WVU had one final shot, but a desperation heave by Jevon Carter fell short.

“That’s what happens when you let them (Oklahoma) penetrate,” said West Virginia coach Bob Huggins. “Penetration draws help, and any time you help that puts the opposing player underneath and gives them the offensive rebound advantage.
