ROCK HILL, S.C. – The West Virginia volleyball team notched its second consecutive win on Friday, hitting .272 as a team to take a 3-1 victory at Winthrop in the first match of the Winthrop Invitational at the Winthrop Coliseum. The Mountaineers (4-6) took the match from the Eagles (4-8) in set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-17.
The Mountaineers put together one of their best offensive outputs of the season, producing 59 kills and hitting for a .272 clip as a team. They hit a staggering .483 in set two, with every hitter on the court recording at least one kill.
