MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University golf team recorded its third-best score in the new era with a total of 873 (+9) and finished tied for ninth at The Invitational at Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort in Johns Island, South Carolina, during the final round Tuesday.
The Mountaineers posted a 304 on the final day and finished nine over par (284-285-304=873). Middle Tennessee State won the tournament by shooting 14 under par (850), followed by Ole Miss at eight under par (856) and Maryland at five under par (859). Jake Marriott of Augusta claimed individual medalist honors by shooting nine under par (66-68-73=207) during the tournament.
