Mountaineers Check in at No. 23

No. 3-seed West Virginia (24-9, 12-6 Big 12) advanced to the program’s 16th overall conference tournament semifinal appearance and the first since 2014 with a 74-65 victory over No. 6-seed Kansas State on March 5, in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship quarterfinal. The Mountaineers then fell, 67-51, to No. 2-seed Texas in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship semifinal, on March 6.

This is the fifth week that West Virginia has appeared in the poll. The Mountaineers were ranked No. 25 on Jan. 18, No. 24 on Jan. 25, No. 24 on Feb. 8 and No. 22 on Feb.
