Mountaineers 13th at Tiger Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Led by Chris Williams, the West Virginia University golf team finished 13th overall at the Tiger Invitational Presented by Jason Dufner at the Grand National Lakes Course in Opelika, Alabama.

The Mountaineers shot 295-289-293=877 to finish 13 over. WVU finished ahead Kansas State (14th), marking the team’s first ever-win over a Big 12 opponent as well as rival Maryland (T-15th). No. 23 Auburn won the team title with a score of 851 for 13 under par, followed by Tory in second at eight under with an 856.

“I’m proud of the effort and preparation from the guys this week,” coach Sean Covich said.
