MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia defensive lineman Kyle Rose sounded contrite Thursday while speaking to the media for the first since his April arrest for allegedly assaulting a police officer at a Morgantown bar.
“I think an apology is definitely needed to be said to the fans and my family,” Rose said. “That’s not how I was raised. That’s not the type of person I am.
“I’ve rededicated my life to football and not worrying about extracurricular activities. This is my last year with my brothers and I kind of let them down.”
A fifth-year senior who hadn’t encountered previous legal trouble, Rose reportedly had to be tased by police after scuffling with a bouncer at Bent Willie’s.
