MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University signee Kristina King won a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Women’s Basketball championship with Gulf Coast State College last week in Lubbock, Texas. The Lady Commodores knocked off Trinity Valley, 63-47, on Saturday to capture the national title.
King averaged 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and shot 54.1 percent from the field in the four wins for the Lady Commodores. She garnered co-MVP honors after scoring 13 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking five shots in the title game against Trinity Valley.
Earlier last week, the Mebane, North Carolina, native was named the named the 2016 WBCA Junior/Community College Player of the Year and an All-American.
