Justin Crawford and Will Grier are expected to team up a lot in 2017 and the pairing has already done so. Both were named to the 2017 Maxwell Award Watch List, given annually to America’s College Player of the Year since 1937.
Crawford, who transferred to WVU from Northwest Mississippi Community College, put up over 1,100 yards rushing while scoring 5 touchdowns in 2016. That effort earned him the 2016 Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
Crawford is joined on the list by quarterback Will Grier. Grier, who started six games as a freshman for the University of Florida Gators before testing positive for a banned substance, sat out all of 2016 as a transfer.
