MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Neal Brown has addressed West Virginia’s need for additional depth on the offensive line with one of the two remaining scholarships in this year’s signing class.
John Hughes, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound lineman from Navarro (Texas) College, signed with the Mountaineers on Sunday, the school announced. Hughes has three seasons of eligibility remaining plus a potential redshirt year.
Hughes played in 11 games at tackle for Navarro last season, but was also a guard in high school. The Bulldogs had sufficient protection to be the No. 1 passing offense in the NJCAA in 2018.
