MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Reflecting on a 12-month period in which he suffered his second torn ACL and then sustained a flesh wound from a drive-by shooting, Jacky Marcellus sounded grateful.
The redshirt sophomore, competing for playing time in the West Virginia backfield, realizes life could be drastically different for him and his family.
“Wrong place at the wrong time,” he said of the Christmas Eve shooting that occurred in his hometown of Immokalee, Fla. “God done blessed me. I’m here playing football so I’m here where I’m supposed to be.”
