MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former Butler (Kan.) Community College quarterback David Isreal announced his arrival at West Virginia on Saturday night, tweeting a photo of the new nameplate on his locker.
Isreal joined Lackawanna College offensive lineman Isaiah Hardy as the final two holdouts from this year’s signing class.
Hardy, according to a report from Rivals.com’s Keenan Cummings, won’t enroll until fall semester classes begin Aug. 16, a delay that will cause the 6-foot-7, 330-pounder to miss half of WVU’s preseason practices.
Isreal and Hardy each have three years remaining to play two.
Isreal is one of only three scholarship quarterbacks expected to be eligible on the Mountaineers’ roster this season, behind Will Grier and Chris Chugunov.
