MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia’s basketball team will make two appearances on ESPN’s Big Monday next season, on back-to-back weeks, according to the Big 12 schedule released Thursday.

The Mountaineers, who visit Kansas on Feb. 13 and host Texas on Feb. 20, made only one Big Monday appearance last season.

While the nonconference portion of the schedule had been firmed up for months, the Big 12 round-robin wasn’t finalized until television networks slotted their preferred matchups. West Virginia has 20 regular-season games scheduled for national broadcast, with more figuring to be allocated.

The Mountaineers, per Bob Huggins’ preference, will once again compress their first two conference games into a five-day road swing that occurs before spring semester commences—nixing the need to fly home between games.
