MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Invariably linked by their same-year arrivals in the Big 12, TCU and West Virginia have staged three consecutive final-play thrillers.
Despite the striking similarities from their first-hand encounters, however, it’s the Frogs who are riding a second straight season of top-five momentum, having won 19 of 20, while the Mountaineers are just 10-9 in that span.
“It’s a good measuring stick with where we’re at,” West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen said. “We had identical records Year 1 and Year 2 (in the Big 12) and both times we played against them it was overtime games.
