MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — With Kennedy McKoy conspicuously absent as West Virginia ravaged Delaware State on Saturday afternoon, Dana Holgorsen confirmed the second-team running back was suspended for the game.
“Violation of team rules,” said Holgorsen, leaning on the catch-all statute of college coaches everywhere.
With Justin Crawford running for 102 yards, Will Grier passing for 304, and both accounting for three touchdowns each, the Mountaineers easily dispatched their FCS opponent 59-16
McKoy entered Week 3 as West Virginia’s second-leading rusher, averaging 49.5 yards per game and 5.2 per carry.
In the sophomore’s absence, Tevin Bush carried nine times for 41 yards and Martell Pettaway produced 39 yards and a touchdown on six attempts.
