MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – West Virginia University wrestling coach Sammie Henson was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member of the Class of 2015 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday evening.
Distinguished Members are selected based on their achievement of extraordinary success in national and/or international competition as a wrestler. They can also earn the honor by compiling an outstanding record as a coach, as well has contributing to substantial enhancement of the sport or advancement of the sport.
“I am so excited to share this moment with all of the people who have helped me throughout my life,” said Henson.
