MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Redshirt junior Kysre Gondrezick netted a game-high 24 points as West Virginia pulled away from Saint Francis 74-45 in the Mountaineers’ season opener at the Coliseum.
Gondrezick connected on four of her eight attempts from three-point range in her first game in nearly twelve months. She sat out the majority of last season due to personal reasons.
“She had been scoring well in practice,” said WVU head coach Mike Carey. “And she shot the ball well in the scrimmage.”
Saint Francis hung around in the first half, taking a brief 28-27 late in the second quarter.
