MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Whoever said the start of a bye week wasn’t newsworthy didn’t read the West Virginia depth chart.
OK, so we’re being a tad dramatic, but how about the dramatic promotion of true freshman David Sills—elevated from redshirt quarterback to scout-team receiver to earning significant playing time against Baylor. And now, he’s a starter. The 6-foot-3 Sills, after making two catches for 64 yards Saturday, gained first-team status ahead of Jovon Durante on the two-deep.
One player who apparently won’t be appearing on West Virginia’s depth chart next year is Aliquippa, Pa., linebacker Kaezon Pugh.
