MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia safety Karl Joseph claimed Big 12 defensive player of the week honors, a no-doubter after contributing four turnovers in the 44-0 whitewash of Georgia Southern.
“Karl is one of the best inspirational leaders that I’ve ever been around,” coach Dana Holgorsen said Monday during the Big 12 coaches teleconference. “He’s got the whole thing going on. He’s already moved onto Liberty. We gave him the game ball, defensive player of the game and overall player of the game. After that he said, ‘It’s fine and good, but we’re moving onto the next opponent.
