MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Georgia cornerback Jayce Rogers, a Rivals three-star prospect from the same hometown as West Virginia assistant Doug Belk, committed to the Mountaineers on Saturday over offers from Iowa, South Florida and Southern Miss.

Belk served as the lead recruiter on Rogers, who becomes WVU’s 12th commitment for the class of 2018, and the first at his position.

After targeting taller, rangier cornerbacks during recent years, West Virginia likes the play-making ability of the 5-foot-8 Rogers, who was also drawing interest from Cincinnati and Boston College. Rogers was camping this weekend in Morgantown.
