West Virginia Mountaineers wide receiver Gary Jennings will not play in the Camping World Bowl next Friday, according to West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen.
Holgorsen broke the news during his signing day/bowl game press conference on Wednesday evening, noting that Jennings played the last few weeks of the season with a high ankle sprain and will now focus on rehabbing to prepare for the East-West Game and a potential NFL Draft Combine appearance.
Jennings had a message for Mountaineer fans on Twitter this evening.
Jennings finishes just 83 yards shy of joining Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey as the only receivers to have multiple 1,000 yard seasons at West Virginia.
