NORMAN, Okla. — The playful side of Dana Holgorsen won’t allow Elijah Wellman much credit for his goal-line touchdown catches the past two weeks.

“They were relatively easy balls to catch.”

The serious side of Holgorsen realizes West Virginia’s run-game success—frequently a product of Wellman’s red-zone blocking—allows the fullback to sneak out unguarded.

“If you want to write about him scoring a touchdown, then go ahead. That’s fine. That’s good for him,” Holgorsen said. “But we are a little more interested with him working good pad level. We want him to block the right guy, and we want him to do it with great pad level and finish the block.
