Four Ready for Junior World Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Three current Mountaineers and one incoming freshman will represent the West Virginia University rifle team at the 2017 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Championship Rifle/Pistol, held June 24-28, at the Schießsportzentrum in Suhl, Germany.

Rising junior Ginny Thrasher and sophomore Morgan Phillips will shoot for the United States, while sophomore Milica Babic will compete for Serbia. Additionally, newcomer David Koenders will represent Germany.

“This is a premier competition for the world’s best junior shooters,” WVU coach Jon Hammond said. “It’s great to have such a strong WVU representation, and it will be nice to see David compete before he arrives in Morgantown.
