MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – On the heels of a nine-save performance in her first collegiate contest, women’s soccer freshman Rylee Foster has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week.
Foster, a native of Cambridge, Ontario, stopped all but one of No. 2-ranked and defending National Champion Penn State’s 10 attempts in the team’s season-opening showdown on Aug. 19, in front of more than 5,000 loud PSU fans, to help the No. 5-ranked Mountaineers earn a 1-1 double-overtime draw. Foster made three saves each half and tallied three more in the first overtime session. She also turned away three corner kicks.
