BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Former WVU quarterback Adam Bednarik, who started for West Virginia in 2005, is facing multiple sexual assault charges stemming from a relationship with a 15-year-old girl, according to authorities.
The 29-year-old is charged with statutory sexual assault of a victim age 11 or older, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person under age 16, institutional sexual assault, indecent assault of a person under age 16 and five counts each of corruption of minors, according to court records.
Bednarik has been on unpaid leave by the Bethlehem Area School District after working as teacher’s aide and coach.
