The National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame announced the 75 finalists for the 2018 induction class.
Among the finalists is former West Virginia head coach Jim Carlen.
Carlen coached the Mountaineers for four seasons between 1966 and 1969. He amassed a record of 25-13-1 in Morgantown including a Southern Conference title (1967) and a Peach Bowl win (1969).
After the 1969 Peach Bowl, Carlen took the job at Texas Tech, leading the Red Raiders to four bowl games in five seasons. He earned Southwest Conference Coach of the Year honors in 1970 and 1973.
