Thanks to the help of another former Mountaineer, ex-West Virginia linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski has found a comfortable landing spot in NFL free agency.
The Las Vegas Raiders — freshly moved from Oakland — signed Kwiatkoski to a three-year contract worth up to $21 million, of which $13.5 million is guaranteed. Kwiatkoski was on the market for the first time after playing primarily as a backup in Chicago for three seasons.
The man who helped Kwiatkoski land in Vegas? John Thornton, who played at West Virginia from 1995-98 before a 10-year NFL career.
Thornton, whose son Jalen is currently a redshirt freshman defensive lineman for WVU, is now an agent for Kwiatkoski and a handful of other NFL players.
