The Duquesne women's soccer team, appearing in the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history, will travel to Morgantown, W.Va., to face No. 6 West Virginia in the tournament's first round on Friday at 6 p.m., the NCAA announced Monday.
The Dukes (12-9-1) defeated Fordham on Sunday to claim their first-ever Atlantic 10 championship, earning them an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The win finished off a late-season run in which they went 5-1-1.
The Mountaineers (16-2-1) are the No. 2 seed in the region and are coming off a 1-0 loss to Texas Tech in the semifinals of the Big 12 tournament, the team's first loss in more than two months.
