MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Rising West Virginia University seniors Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence helped the Canadian Women’s Soccer National Team split its Road to Rio Women’s International Series with Brazil.

The Canadians dropped the series opener, 2-0, on June 4, at BMO Field in Toronto. The squad bounced back with a 1-0 extra time victory last night at TD Place in Ottawa.

Lawrence, a midfielder when playing for the Mountaineers, was moved to left fullback Saturday evening, and her efforts were immediately acknowledged, as she was named the player of the match for Canada.
