Jaysean Paige and Devin Williams led the Mountaineers to their first win over the AP #1 ranked team since 1983.
For the first time since 1983, West Virginia defeated the #1 ranked team in the AP poll as the #11 Mountaineers (15-1, 4-0) defeated #1 Kansas (14-2, 3-1) 74-63 on a snowy Tuesday night at the Coliseum.
The Jayhawks led for about the first 8 minutes in the game, but a Nathan Adrian fallaway three at the end of the shotclock gave West Virginia a 17-14 lead at 11:44 to go in the first and the Mountaineers never trailed again.
