MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to beat William & Mary 7-6 in the second game of a doubleheader on Friday.
After scoring eight unanswered runs in a 10-inning, walk-off victory in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader, the Mountaineers (30-19) won a back-and-forth affair in the nightcap against the Tribe (24-25).
The victory extended WVU’s winning streak to eight games, tied for the longest in coach Randy Mazey’s four seasons in Morgantown. West Virginia has won 11 of its last 12 games.
WVU was again led by junior first baseman Jackson Cramer, who had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs.
